They identified themselves as Chase Bank Visa, and told me my zip code and balance on my card. I did not give them the expiration date on my card as they requested. I then asked them for an 800 number so that I could call them. She gave me a 8885777963 number which I googled to find this site identifying it as a scam.

Same as reported above. This is a fraudulent scam company At first I thought it was mastercard calling and when I asked who they were, the woman calling said that she was from Visa Mastercard Merchant Services. After I gave my credit card number, I told them that it struct me that I did not know who they were and asked for there web site address. She said it was under construction which was a big red flag amongst others. The person identified herself as Catherine Rogers at 888-577-7963 ext. 251. While I was on the phone with her, I called the number to ask who they were and they said they were a financial consulting service. I got back on the phone with her and told her that I could not verify who she was. Another man got on the phone and I told him his company was not verifiable and it was suspicious not having a web site. When he said that does not prove anything, I hung up and cancelled all of my credit cards. I will report them to BBB and put a freeze on my credit reports. This is a scam, if Visa Mastercard Merchant services calls, hang up.

Same deal as the people that reported above. Computer call offering to reduce interest rates. Knew it was a scam as soon as I saw their call ID. So here is what to do: Keep tie them up for as long as possible, w/o ever actually giving them any info. Ask for their name, ask that they spell it, ask for an agent ID, who they represent, their managers name, their workgroup number, just make stuff up and keep asking them questions. In this case he said his name was James Taylor.. yeah no sh|t! If they seem like they know you are messing with them, say, "wait, wait, wait, I was just messing with you, tell me about your program..." The more WE tie up their phone lines, the less scamming they can do on the innocent. DO NOT offer any of your info, just keep them talking. For bonus points, try to get an additional agent or possibly a manager. Have fun!

Same basic story ony this time they said they were with the Visa Mastercard headquarters andwere going to lower the rate's on my cards. I reported this to the Cii bank call center and they kept saying they didnt call. I tried explaining that I thought it was a scam and they kept saying they didnt call. It was like they didnt care. I finally told them I wanted my card number changed.

Same as previous posters - very aggressive, very rude, and obviously a credit card phishing scam. Do not give them any info. It is kind of fun seeing you can hold him up on the line though... :)

This man, very rude, wanted information on my credit cards. He gave me the first numbers and wanted me to give him the rest of the numbers and experation date. He then gave me the balance and dates that I had made my last payment! He want ALL of my credit card numbers and I told him that he should know them if he had all the other information. He said that the company wanted to give me lower interest rates because I had always been a good costermer. Very, very rude! I finally hung up and he called back and started again. Meanwhile I called the number he gave me and was on hold a very long time and never got an answer! I hung up again!

Got a call today at 1:25 pm and the guy was also very pushy and adamant about his credibility. Asked for my expiration date and wanted my credit card number. I gave him the date but not the card number. He told me he would be able to tell me what is exactly on my statement IF I gave him the card number and THAT was how he was going to prove he was legitimate. When I said, "give me a moment to get the statement" he became very rude, aggressive and hostile and said, "Ma'am! I DO NOT NEED THE STATEMENT I HAVE THE STATEMENT I NEED THE CARD NUMBER." I asked him how would I know he was telling the truth if I didn't have the statement? He then tried to feebly apologize. It was at that point that I decided to do more checking. I put the number he gave me which was 888 577-7963 into Google and found this site thankfully. They called me back 3 times after I initially hung up trying to get my credit card number. the numbers they called from are: 310 388-6861 twice and 406 931-3244 initially. BEWARE!! I told them that there were reports they are a fraudulant company and all they said was, "Fraudulant? who what is fraudulant? where does it say that?" I told them on the internet. All they did was glass over it and keep trying to fish for information. I finally hung up.
